Founded in 2000, Creas is
a network of Christian professional men and
women from different fields. It is an
ecumenical organization that seeks to
strengthen the capacity of the ecumenical
movement, churches and social organizations
to promote civil, political, economic,
social, cultural and environmental human
rights.
Creas contributes to this mission through
advisory, coordination, communication and
training activities. Creas works in 8
countries in the Southern Cone and the
Andean Region: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru,
Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and
Uruguay. It also actively cooperates with
different organizations in Brazil and is in
contact with sister organizations in other
countries in Latin America and the
Caribbean. |

Creas accomplishes its mission through two different programs: |

Strengthen the Capacity of the Ecumenical
Movement
At the regional level, Creas works with
organized grass roots groups, churches and
ecumenical organizations and NGOs both from
urban and rural areas, which focus primarily
on the following: community development,
health, human rights, family violence,
gender, culture, the environment and
production and income-generating activities.
Creas provides them with training, advisory
services and communication and coordination
activities. >>
